Temperament of the Border Collie breed

Border Collies are originally bred as farm dogs. Farmers consider them as gifts from heaven as they are highly energetic and they’re one of the hardest working dogs blooming on praises. Border Collie dogs can mingle well with other animals and with children too. However, they may be aggressive with other dogs of the same sex. You have to show 100% leadership and should have energy stronger than them. You should be firm and consistent or else, the dog will take over. If they are allowed to take over, they can be highly reactive or too sensitive with sound and strange movements, thus making them a poor choice for family.

These dogs love attention, thus, if you don’t have enough time to spend with them, it is not advisable to have one. Taking care of a Border Collie requires a lot of attention and time, they love to cuddled and be pleased.
