Temperament of the Cairn Terrier breed

Cairn Terriers are known for their being adventurous, strong and loyal dog. Most people say that they are disobedient and aggressive. Though they are very sensitive to sound and are more aggressive to strange dogs, Cairn Terriers are easy to train. This should always be done at an early age so as not to develop their aggression to strangers. Cairn Terrier dogs should be let out in the yard on a leash since they tend to run after small creatures and act up if they won’t be able to catch them. They say that there’s a big dog in its little body. Cairns are fierce and fearless. They can, however, adapt to children and family but definitely cannot tolerate rough handling or mistreatment. Another behavior of this breed is that they love to dig. Owners should be prepared for this.
