Temperament of the Maltese breed

Maltese dogs, by nature, are very active and playful dogs. It doesn’t diminish fast even when they age. Maltese should also be watched every time they’re around kids as they tend to play too much and not care about the people whether they hurt them or not. They tend to snap when played with too hard. If they’re hurt accidentally or heard a loud noise, they have a tendency to crack or be very loud.

This breed is one of the most cuddly and loving dogs. Just like the other breeds, their loyalty is priceless. It’s normal that most Maltese suffer from separation anxiety. They don’t want to be left alone and will definitely make a noise or start chewing if they don’t see anyone around them. Owners should start training them early.
